Stickmon’s Green Smoothie

For the past 10-15 years, I’ve been drinking green smoothies every morning. It helps me think clearly and feel good. It’s also been a good way to ensure that I: 1) have at least 1-2 servings of vegetables (especially leafy greens) and fruit each day (and the rest I take care throughout the day); and 2) make a conscious effort to integrate good sources of vitamins and minerals (especially vitamins A, C, and K, iron, folic acid, potassium, calcium, and magnesium), electrolytes, and antioxidants into my diet in a way that’s quick and easy.

After experimenting over years, my recipe has certainly changed. I noticed that if I keep it simple, I’m more likely to make it and drink it on a regular basis. If it’s too complicated or time consuming to prepare, I won’t do it. Here are the ingredients (leaving most of the measurements up to you):

  • Spinach

  • Mango (frozen or fresh)

  • Local honey

  • Coconut water

  • Jasmine green tea

  • And occasionally, the following:

    • a touch of lemon juice or apple cider vinegar

    • 1/2 - 1 tbsp moringa powder

    • kefir

Blend for 1 minute. Depending on how much liquid base you add, you should have enough to last about 2-3 days. Enjoy!
